Sometimes, things we think we understand can actually still surprise us. Ruanne is a butter-based lifeform. What's a butter-based lifeform? Some kind of amoeba? No. A fully grown, human-like young woman who appeared spontaneously from a vat of butter. Something that only happens once every few hundred years, the last time it happened in Girona, sometime in the middle ages.

This type of organism is not very stable, so she will not last more than a month. But that doesn't bother her. It's just how her life is. Why should she be sad? Ruanne lives one day at a time. She doesn't dwell on things for long, because worrying is not a good way to spend your time. All living beings die. And the fact that she exists is a miracle to begin with. Is our life really so long compared to hers? Isn't it all relative?
