Neep

Neep is a young guy with a passion for food, cooking, and giving his guests something to remember. He's got his own restaurant, which he runs out of his late parents' home. Neep has a particular interest in what's called "futurist cooking".

Neep stands proudly in his messy kitchen

Every dish should be a new experience for all five senses. A truly "human" way of eating. His kitchen lacks much of the traditional equipment you'd expect. Instead of an oven, a stove, and other regular tools... Neep prefers to use an autoclave to cook his food. It preserves the vitamins, he believes. And he's got other kinds of knickknacks, which he can use to determinehow many proteins, fibers, vitamins etc. his food contains. It's a compensation for his childhood, in which he was given less nutritious meals and ended up with a shorter statue than usual. He's developed a special dislike for pasta. Now he wants to make the most optimal foods possible.

And the same goes for the dining area, too. When you come to sit down at one of his tables, you'll find there's a complete lack of eating utensils; no forks, knives, or spoons. Instead, and this is part of the futurist approach, guests should use their hands to eat. They should experience the food in their hands before they experience it in their mouths.

But most people don't seem to appreciate his genius, much to his (and his wallet's) frustration. Neep's restaurant, the "Little Roots", is not exactly successful, and that means things aren't easy for Neep on the financial side of things.

In times of distress, or when his recipes have been criticized one too many times, Neep retreats into his rutabaga garden and just spends some time on his plants. There, he can gather his thoughts again. This is his safe place.

Rutabaga is Neep's favorite vegetable and even the source of his nickname.
